The NWO physics of life research community committee has been able to arrange the physics of life seminar series ! Each physics research community got the opportunity to request financial support from the NWO Round Table Physics for community building and we have chosen to use this to continue these meetings. The first meeting took place in November 2023 in De Waag, Amsterdam with a keynote talk by Ray Goldstein (University of Cambridge). Since then we had biannual meetings, alternating in Utrecht and Amsterdam. Keynote talks have been given by Erik van Nimwegen (University of Basel), Patricia Bassereau (Institut Curie), and Seppe Kuehn (University of Chicago).
The meetings typically include a lecture by an external speaker, short talks by two to three early career researchers, and a short talk by a junior PI in the Netherlands. The upcoming edition is organised by Florian Berger (UU), Ioana Ilie (Uva), and Udo Sen (WUR). Get in touch with them if you want to give a talk during one of the seminars.
